- Tofu: about 100–150 g
- Dou gan: about 50 g
- Bean curd sticks : about 10–15 g
2. Precautions
Not everyone is suitable for consuming large amounts of soy products. The following groups should limit intake or consult a doctor:
- Gout patients: Soybeans are medium- to high-purine foods; avoid during acute attacks.
- People with kidney impairment: High protein content in soy products increases kidney burden. Intake should be determined under medical or nutritional guidance.
- People with thyroid disorders: Goitrogens in soy may affect thyroid hormone synthesis. Hyperthyroid patients are advised to consume fermented soy products instead, and avoid consuming large amounts on an empty stomach.

- Check appearance and smell: Fresh tofu should be uniform in texture with no off-odor. Soy milk should be milky-white with no sediment. Dou gan should have a smooth surface.
4. Storage Tips
Different soy products require different storage methods; improper storage may cause spoilage:
- Fresh tofu: Soak in clean water and refrigerate.
- Soy milk: Freshly made soy milk should be consumed the same day. Once opened, packaged soy milk must be refrigerated and consumed within 24 hours.
- Bean curd sticks: Store unopened at room temperature. Once opened, seal in a bag and refrigerate. Dried products like tofu stick and tofu skin should be kept in a cool, dry place to avoid moisture and mold.
